The development of the VIENNA VIKINGS in the ELF is making huge progress
Currently, twelve teams are competing, but the gradual build-up will take place in the coming years
Markus Kraetschmer acts in an advisory capacity but also as a co-owner of the Vikings Ltd. in the ELF. In addition he sees a large community on the European football market: "There is a clear growth potential to 24 teams to go". The goal, of course, remains to attract more co-owners and sponsors for the Vikings franchise in Vienna in the coming weeks and months!
But also the European League of Football is constantly expanding its ownership structure! The circle of shareholders around founders Zeljko Karajica and Patrick Esume was recently expanded to include media and sports entrepreneur Thomas Krohne, financial investor Christian Binder and real estate entrepreneur Henry Berg. The trio together secured around eight percent of the company's shares in the continental football league, which started its second season in July.
"We are delighted to be able to add experienced and successful entrepreneurial personalities to our group of shareholders around a year and a half after the company was founded. For us, this is another milestone in the development of the league and I am convinced that we will benefit from their expertise and network in our goal to establish the European League of Football as a new top international league and to consistently drive its growth and reach," says Managing Director Karajica.
The ELF's second season has been running since June 2022 with twelve teams from five nations, and after just six rounds the previous year's mark of 100,000 spectators in the stadiums was broken. In addition, the league reaches more than half a billion households worldwide with its TV and distribution partners and its own platform. The expansion course will continue, and it is already certain that at least eight countries will be represented by franchises in the 2023 season.
